NORTHERN MARINE ANNOUNCED AS LISW21 SILVER SPONSOR

Northern Marine, the ship management and marine services provider, is supporting the maritime industry’s first UK-based in-person event for 18 months, having signed up as a Silver Sponsor for London International Shipping Week 2021 (LISW21).

From 13–17 September, leading shipping, maritime and government figures will gather in London, as well as online, to discuss topics related to the event’s theme: ‘Driving growth and recovery in a disrupted world’. And Northern Marine will contribute to the conversation by hosting an event during the week.

Philip Fullerton, Managing Director, Northern Marine (pictured), is looking forward to speaking with peers about the opportunities and challenges for the maritime sector.

He said: “As we all know, the industry has endured unprecedented challenges since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. But despite facing adversity, many companies have shown great resilience and flexibility throughout this turbulent period.

“With LISW21 going ahead in person as well as virtually, there is good reason to believe the shipping sector is returning to a normalised state. We should take this opportunity to get together to collaborate and share our learnings from this period of disruption that has affected our entire industry.”

Sean Moloney, Director of Shipping Innovation, owner and manager of LISW21, said: “We are delighted that Northern Marine has committed its support to LISW21. We are excited to have them onboard as an event sponsor and look forward to the virtual event ‘Tonnage Tax: Optimising Future Skills’, hosted by Northern Marine subsidiary Clyde Marine Training on Monday 13 September.”

Northern Marine has grown from a ship management provider to a portfolio of companies that offers the full spectrum of marine and offshore services. The group, which is headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stena, one of the largest family-owned companies in Sweden.

LISW21 is a hybrid event with attendees able to join in person or virtually. The LISW21 Portal, a hub for attending or hosting events online, visiting virtual exhibition stands or networking with other attendees, extends this year’s LISW to a far wider international audience than ever before.

Virtual visitors to LISW21 will need to access the event via the official LISW21 Portal. Register here for free: https://bit.ly/3rykbaP

More information about getting full access to the hub, which went live on 2 August, and tutorials about how to use it can be found here: https://bit.ly/3rMK4E1

LISW21 is on track to host more than 150 events and activities as well as holding its influential Headline Conference, which this year takes place at the London headquarters of the International Maritime Organization on the banks of the River Thames on Wednesday 15th September.
