THRIVING ON
CHAOS
Rarely has the political or commercial environment been more uncertain or unpredictable than it is now, with Brexit,
trade wars, sanctions and sulphur regulations only some of the many issues causing havoc in today’s markets. So, what better time to host London International Shipping Week 2019, where the thousands of visiting attendees will descend upon London to examine these issues and try to turn the chaos into opportunities.
LISW19 is the fourth iteration of this hugely prestigious and well-attended biennial event, having grown each time since it was launched in September 2013. And it will be the biggest and best yet.
As co-founders and organisers of LISW, we
are delighted at how this event has ourished and especially thrilled at how highly it is valued by industry and government, not just in the UK but also worldwide.
Events of such global importance are not organised overnight – two years of very hard work has gone into creating an event that the maritime industry and the UK can be very proud of. With around 200 of cial events scheduled to take place at some of the most iconic venues in Britain’s capital, the estimated 20,000 visitors in London for the week will certainly have plenty of options.
Special thanks must go to the Steering Group whose members have worked tirelessly to create a week of the highest quality, and to the highly distinguished Board of Advisors who have advised and overseen the whole process. A huge thank you must also go to every sponsor, supporting organisation, event organiser, media partner and member of our hard-working, dedicated teams at Petrospot and Elaborate.
We hope you enjoy LISW19 and look forward to meeting you during the week. l
