The sixth annual OSCAR Dragon Boat Race, traditionally the  nale
of London International Shipping Week, saw almost 500 people in attendance. The event raised over £150,000, which means the OSCAR Campaign has now raised £2 million for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH). The OSCAR Campaign’s namesake is Oscar Parry, son of Philip Parry, Chairman of Spinnaker. Now 20, Oscar was treated for two types of leukaemia from ages 3 to 8. This year there were
27 teams, representing Spinnaker, Borealis Maritime, Hill Dickinson, Swire Bulk, BDO, LISCR, C Solutions, North P&I, Britannia P&I, CJC, Shipowners’ Club, Thomas Miller, Union Maritime, Lomar Shipping, Golar LNG, A.M.Nomikos, Lloyd’s Register, Ince, IG Group, Beazley, Baltic Exchange, Corner Club and MSC Cruises. Borealis Maritime were the top fundraisers and winners of the boat race.
