Roger Hargreaves is Director of Maritime at the Department for Transport.
Prior to taking up his current role, Roger was responsible for securing the legislation and other powers necessary to allow the construction of High Speed 2. Roger’s previous civil service roles include Programme Director at the Office for Renewable Energy Deployment in DECC, responsible for the delivery, co-ordination and financing of the Government’s renewable energy programme, National Project Director for a major emergency services project at the Department for Communities and Local Government, a series of posts at the Cabinet Office in the national security field, and Secretary to Sir Michael Pitt’s Review of the UK’s flood risk management and infrastructure protection. Roger was also a Director at the Better Regulation Executive. Roger joined the Cabinet Office from Her Majesty’s Treasury where he worked on education spending, labour market policy and the single currency.
Roger has also worked for one of the world’s largest IT companies as director of public sector strategy.
