Would you like to get involved?
As in previous years, teams of 11 (10 rowers and a drummer), pay an entry fee of £500 to help cover costs and pledge to raise £5000 through sponsorship or company donations or fund matching. Email Rachel Morgan at email@example.com to sign up.
Why do it?
OSCAR funds research at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children that is saving lives. And besides, it’s fantastic networking with shipowners, P&I clubs, insurers, brokers, flags… and more. It’s also great team building and a seriously fun day that sends people home with a big smile on their faces and feeling good about themselves.
On the day?
Get a morning’s work in and then make your way to London Docklands for networking, partying, racing and team building. A barbecue, bar and music will keep the party going.
Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre, 235a Westferry Rd, Isle of Dogs, London E14 3QS

Last year, shipowners Scorpio and Union Maritime battled it out to become the biggest fundraisers, both raising a remarkable £21,000+ and Scorpio were just pipped to the post in the racing by North P&I. Watch it here.
The OSCAR campaign (The Ocean and Shipping Community Advancing Children’s Health and Research) is an innovative fundraising partnership uniting the international shipping community to raise funds at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (ICH). The campaign is the inspiration of Phil Parry, Chairman of Spinnaker Consulting Ltd, whose son Oscar received life-saving care at GOSH. Oscar had leukaemia twice and endured three transplants before being cured by some pioneering research. Since its inception in 2011, the OSCAR campaign raised over £1.5 million, helping to refurbish vital facilities at the hospital, and funding pioneering research into childhood cancers and immune diseases at GOSH and the ICH.
