The steady growth in the number of LNG powered vessels over recent years is evident that LNG has become a compelling fuel. Largely by the IMO’s restrictions on emissions in the Emission Control Areas, the topic of LNG as a Marine Fuel has shifted from the question of ‘shall we commit to LNG as a marine fuel’ to ‘how ready are we to embrace LNG as a marine fuel’?
With 20 LNG carriers under its management, BSM is a leading provider of high quality and efficient ship management services. Our expertise in managing LNG vessels is further supported by our involvement in the designing of the Gas Fuel Supply Vessel (GFSV) – a purpose built ship that will supply LNG to other ships, marine crafts and shore facilities.
Join us at this 2-hour session where BSM will share details of this massive project along with insights on how BSM is equipped to address the technical challenges of this emerging sector, as well as its specialisation in crew training and support services required to operate this new service safely and efficiently.
Chaired by Chris Clucas, President of the Society for Gas as a Marine Fuel (SGMF) and Corporate Expert – Liquefied Gas for BSM, the session will involve discussions on LNG design, bunkering to vessel management and how the sector is developing. Joining the experts from BSM, will be senior leadership representatives from SGMF, Affinity Shipping LLP and Wartsila.
