The presentation is by Keith Charles and Mark Ball on Introduction to Fixed & Floating Object Damage .
Marine structures and associated facilities, commonly referred to as “fixed and floating objects”(FFO), are vulnerable to being struck by vessels and damaged, particularly from contact with bulbous bows or bow flares, when incorrect berthing manoeuvring occur. Claims involving FFO damage vary considerably in terms of type and severity of the damage, and their repair/replacement costs and consequential losses can be very high.
LOC has over 30 years of experience gained from investigating FFO damage claims. In our Breakfast Briefing we will be sharing this knowledge and providing an introductory background into the more common types of marine structures, the typical damages incurred and their repair.
LOC’s marine civil engineers will also be on hand to answer your questions.
