Maritime UK Diversity in Maritime – Pride in Maritime Roundtable

The Diversity in Maritime – Pride in Maritime Industry Roundtable will take place on Monday 11th September from 10.30am – 12.00 pm during London International Shipping Week 2023.

This event will be held in a hybrid format with a limited number of spaces for in-person attendees. For those who will be attending in-person there will be a networking lunch available until 13.00pm.

The roundtable will  hosted by Nautilus International at ITF House and the networking lunch is kindly sponsored by ITF.

Headline discussions will include the recruitment and retention of those who identify as LGBT+ within the sector and we are grateful to guest speakers Sadie Saunders, and Gustavo Aguilar Miranda, who will be for joining discussions on the day.

• Sadie Saunders, maritime policy adviser at the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), discussing the ITF’s global work on LGBT+ matters, challenges faced and opportunities for social dialogue
• Gustavo Aguilar Miranda, founder of the I Exist Too project, discussing outcomes of the inaugural I Exist Too conference held in Panama in 2023, and how the industry can support the initiative’s growth.
