National Maritime MIT Technical Talks – How the world’s leading experts are working with International Shipping to reduce the risk of oil pollution within the marine environment. For the first time ever, AtZ will feature at London International Shipping Week, where they will, in conjunction with National Maritime, deliver a MIT Technical Talk session focused on reducing the environmental impact on our seas from international shipping oil pollution.
National Maritime MIT Technical Talks are a series of technical seminars that are delivered across the UK, focusing on regional sector developments, technical advancements, thought leadership and current issues facing the maritime industry. They are delivered in partnership with the MIT Group, suppliers and service providers of driveline systems.
AtZ will be joined by trusted partners to deliver technical insights into pollution control within the marine environment.
DECKMA Hamburg GmbH – Oil in Water measurement associated with the shipping industry. Presented by Axel A Schmidt, R&D Manager, Deckma Hamburg. Oil in water monitoring technology.
Wave International – Oil Water Separators: Improving bilge pumping operations and reducing maintenance. Presented by Paul Gullett, Director, Wave International. Oil in water filtration technology.
ACM Composite Bearings – Environmentally friendly bearing solutions for marine applications. Presented by Carl Buddery, Engineering Director, ACM Composite Bearings. Water lubricated bearing technology.
Along with leading industry experts AtZ will present how technology has evolved to monitor and eliminate oil from ships bilge tanks, ensuring the future conservation of the environment and compliance by shipping operators.
Whilst looking at ways oil in water can be reduced, AtZ will also discuss water lubricated bearing technology which eliminates the sea water to oil interface found in common stern tube seal arrangements, which overall, eliminates the possibility of oil pollution from the stern tube.
