The Ship as a Data Eco System – CIMAC Reception on Digitalization in Shipping

On invitation only, CIMAC, the leading global non-profit association of the Internal Combustion Engines Industry, is pleased to hold a reception on digitalization in shipping.
We will discuss digitalization in shipping and especially how the data exchange on ships can be optimized. Individual ship components already communicate well within their system, but this is still not done adequately across systems. To start the discussion, the position paper “The Ship as a Data Eco System” will be presented by the CIMAC Digitalization Strategy Group. What is special about this group is that it consists not only of experts from engine manufacturers, but also of representatives from component suppliers, engineering companies, classification societies, system integration solution providers, and universities. In this way, the Group ensures that it can draw on very broad expertise.
