UK Shipbuilding Skills Taskforce Report Launch and Opening of Careers Event

The UK Shipbuilding Skills Taskforce was appointed as part of the 2022 National Shipbuilding Strategy Refresh. It was charged with building a picture of UK shipbuilding’s skills needs and making recommendations to resolve skills shortages, particularly those related to new and emerging technologies.

The Taskforce will launch its report, setting out its recommendations, at LISW23 on Monday 11 September. It will use the event to outline its recommendations and aim to secure industry support for recommended actions. The event will provide the opportunity to highlight and act on key themes from the report, in particular promoting shipbuilding careers, increasing industry awareness of the skills system and sustaining industry/education/government collaboration.
