UK Maritime Minister praises the relationship between the UK and Greek maritime clusters

UK Maritime Minister Robert Courts has heralded the opening of the UK Ship Register’s first overseas support office in Piraeus by saying its new presence in the region will foster further cooperation between two proud maritime nations. Addressing a special webinar announcing the flag’s expansion into the Greek and Cypriot markets, Minister Courts said: “Maritime is a truly global sector. We recognise the importance and influence of Greek and Cypriot ship owners and the long-held Anglo-Greek relationship. As the UK exists the EU at the end of 2020, we are excited by the new opportunities for new partnerships,” he stressed. “We have focused on building global links and maximising new trade deals which will help build a brighter future for the sector. We are here to bring the maritime community together and provide opportunities for a responsible and sustainable development to UK flag bearers,” he told delegates.
